Terms of Use
Effective October 22, 2026
In short
- Fair Price gives AI estimates of what things usually cost locally. They're a guide, not a guarantee, and not financial advice: you decide what to pay.
- Official sight prices are read from the attraction's own website and can be out of date. Check at the ticket office.
- You don't need an account. Signing in with Apple or Google is optional.
- Fair Price Pro is a monthly or yearly subscription, billed and managed by Apple or Google. Cancel there at any time. There's no free trial; free checks each day let you try Fair Price first.
- Use Fair Price lawfully and respectfully, especially when photographing in public.
- On iPhone, Apple's standard licence also applies; on Android, Google Play's terms do.
1. These terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Maciej Bajko (“Fair Price”, “we”, “us”), an independent developer based in the United Arab Emirates, about using the Fair Price apps for iPhone and Android and fairprice.tech. By using Fair Price you accept them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data. If you don't agree, please don't use Fair Price.
These terms supplement the terms of the store you got Fair Price from. On iPhone, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the Standard EULA) also applies, and if anything here conflicts with it, the Standard EULA prevails for the iPhone app. On Android, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply.
2. Who can use Fair Price
You must be at least 13, or older where the law of your country requires it, and able to agree to these terms. To buy a subscription you need to be an adult or have a parent's or guardian's permission. You need an iPhone with iOS 26 or later, or an Android phone with Android 9 or later, and an internet connection.
3. What Fair Price does
You take a photo of something for sale, and Fair Price estimates what locals usually pay for it where you are, using artificial intelligence (Google's Gemini) and your approximate location. Depending on the check, it also gives a verdict on a price you were asked, a haggling tip and a counteroffer phrase in the local language. It can also estimate taxi and other ride fares, show sights on a map with their official ticket prices, keep a history of your checks on your phone, and blend in what other travelers report they paid.
4. Estimates, not guarantees
- Answers are produced automatically by AI and can be wrong: an item can be misidentified, a price misread, or local prices may have changed. Prices vary with quality, season, place and negotiation.
- A verdict (fair, high, overpriced) is guidance, not a statement about any seller. You decide what to pay and whether to buy.
- Fair Price isn't financial, legal, tax or other professional advice, and it can't tell whether goods are genuine. When it says branded goods may be replicas, that's a pricing assumption, not an assessment of any particular item.
- Official sight prices are read automatically from the attraction's own website. They can be out of date, incomplete or misread, and the price at the gate is what counts. Ticket estimates without an official price are AI estimates.
- Ride fares are estimates based on distance and typical local fares, not quotes from any driver or company.
- Prices in your home currency are approximate, using daily rates from ExchangeRate-API.
- Counteroffer phrases are machine translations and may be imperfect. Haggling customs differ; please be polite and respectful.
- Prices other travelers report aren't checked by us beyond rejecting amounts far outside the expected range.
5. Your account
You don't need to sign up: Fair Price creates an anonymous account with a random ID the first time you use it. You can sign in with Apple or Google to keep the same account on another phone or after reinstalling. You're responsible for keeping your Apple or Google sign-in secure. You can sign out, or delete your account in Settings, at any time.
6. Free checks and Fair Price Pro
- Free checks: you get a number of free price checks each day, shown in the app. Checks that fail, or where no item for sale could be identified, don't count.
- Fair Price Pro unlocks unlimited price checks, ride fares and sight ticket prices. “Unlimited” is subject to a fair-use limit against abuse, currently 300 checks a day.
- Subscriptions: Pro is a monthly or yearly subscription. The price and billing period are shown in the app before you buy. There's no free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple Account or Google account when you confirm the purchase.
- Renewal and cancelling: a subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel it in your App Store subscriptions or your Google Play subscriptions. Deleting the app or your account doesn't cancel a subscription. After cancelling, Pro stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Refunds: Apple and Google process payments and refunds under their own policies. To ask for a refund, use reportaproblem.apple.com on iPhone, or Google Play's refund process on Android.
- Price changes: if the price of your subscription changes, Apple or Google will tell you in advance as their rules require, and you can cancel before it applies.
- Withdrawal: Pro is unlocked right away. Where the law gives you a right to withdraw from the purchase, you agree that the service starts at once, and you acknowledge that this affects your right of withdrawal to the extent the law allows. This doesn't limit Apple's or Google's refund policies.
7. Acceptable use
Please use Fair Price lawfully and respectfully. Don't:
- photograph people without their consent where the law requires it, take photos where photography isn't allowed, or use Fair Price in private places such as bathrooms or changing rooms;
- use answers to harass, threaten or publicly shame sellers or anyone else;
- use Fair Price while driving, or in ways that put you or others at risk;
- submit false “What did you pay?” reports or otherwise try to skew prices;
- access Fair Price by automated means, scrape it, copy its answers to build a competing service, or reverse engineer it, except where the law allows;
- get around free-check limits, payments, App Check or other protections, or disrupt or overload the service;
- use Fair Price for anything illegal, or to identify, track or monitor people.
8. Your photos and price reports
- Photos stay yours. You allow us, and the service providers named in our Privacy Policy, to process each photo to answer your check. We don't store photos on our servers.
- Price reports: when you report what you paid, you allow us to use the amount, without your name or account, to improve price ranges for everyone, worldwide, free of charge and for as long as we keep it (180 days). Reports aren't linked to you, so they can't be withdrawn one by one. Report honestly.
- Sharing: you can share price cards. You're responsible for what you share and where.
9. Intellectual property
Fair Price, its design, texts and code belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own, non-commercial purposes under these terms. Answers are for your personal use; you can share them, for example with a price card. Map data belongs to Apple, Google and © OpenStreetMap contributors. Apple, Google, Meta and other names and logos belong to their owners.
10. Third-party services
Fair Price relies on and links to services run by others: Apple (App Store, Sign in with Apple, Apple Maps), Google (Google Play, Google sign-in, Google Maps, Gemini), Meta (for glasses), RevenueCat, OpenStreetMap, attractions' own websites, and the map apps Navigate opens (Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze and Citymapper). Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them. We're not responsible for their content, availability or practices.
11. Meta AI glasses
If you use Fair Price with Meta AI glasses, our Terms of Use for Meta AI glasses also apply, including rules for using them safely and respecting the people around you. Meta's own terms apply to the glasses and the Meta AI app.
12. Changes to Fair Price
We keep improving Fair Price and may change, add or remove features, or limit them in some countries. Fair Price needs an internet connection and services we don't control, so it may sometimes be unavailable. If a change takes away a main feature of Pro that you've paid for, we'll tell you first, and you can cancel.
13. Disclaimers
Fair Price is provided as it is and as available. As far as the law allows, we don't promise that answers are accurate, complete or up to date, or that the app will always work without interruption. If you're a consumer, this doesn't affect your statutory rights, for example to digital content and services that conform to the contract.
14. Our responsibility
As far as the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for lost data, or for what you pay or decide to pay based on an answer, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for intentional or grossly negligent harm, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
15. Ending
You can stop using Fair Price and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or where the law requires it. Sections 8, 13, 14 and 17 continue after that.
16. Apple and Google
These terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google aren't responsible for Fair Price or its content and have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. On iPhone: if Fair Price fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you can notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple isn't responsible for any claims relating to Fair Price, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection and intellectual property claims; we are, as far as these terms say. You confirm you're not in a country under a U.S. embargo or on a U.S. list of prohibited parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them against you.
17. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of the United Arab Emirates have jurisdiction. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, including in the European Union and the United Kingdom, and you can bring a claim in the courts there. Please write to us first; most problems can be solved quickly. We aim to reply to complaints within 14 days.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll update this page and the date above, and tell you in the app about significant changes before they apply. If you don't agree with them, you can stop using Fair Price, cancel your subscription and delete your account.
